  • Our Fundamentals

Vision

We aspire to a world imbued with meaning, connections, and solidarity, where justice for all living beings is at the heart of our actions, and where diversities, embraced unconditionally, actively contribute to shaping our visions of the future.

Mission

Supporting groups in their pursuit of meaning, justice and equity, through engaged, collaborative and courageous philanthropy.
Values, Principles, and Commitments

Ethical Guide

Our values and ethical principles are essential reference points that guide our actions, relationships and decisions. We value constant evolution, recognizing that continued learning and adaptation are necessary to face the complex challenges of our society.

Core Values

Our values are the foundations of our commitment and our practices. They represent our deep convictions and guide our every action.

  • Integrity
  • Humility
  • Transparency
  • Accountability
  • Integrity

The alignment between our words and our actions is non-negotiable. Integrity means respecting our commitments and acting consistently with our ethical values.

  • Humility

We recognize our interdependence and our limits, while understanding that our actions are only a modest attempt in the face of the complexity of the issues we face.

  • Transparency

Building trust requires open and honest communication. We share clear information, including about our decision-making processes and the impacts of our actions.

  • Accountability

We take responsibility for the consequences of our choices. Being responsible means being accountable to the communities we serve, our partners, and our team. We are committed to correcting our mistakes and continuously improving our practices.

Ethical Principles

Our ethical principles define our approach and ensure that our actions are aligned with our commitment to social justice and equity.

  • Self-determination of the communities we serve

Each community must be able to define its needs and actions. We prioritize initiatives led by and for the concerned communities.
  • Philanthropy centred on the groups we support

Our strategies are adapted to the specific needs of the groups we support, placing their reality at the heart of our decisions.
  • Democracy

We promote inclusive and participatory decision-making, valuing historically marginalized voices.
  • Equity

Correcting power imbalances means providing everyone with the necessary resources to access the same opportunities, while respecting their specific contexts.
  • Recognition of our positionality

Our identities influence our perceptions and actions. Being aware of these dynamics allows us to act with greater fairness and respect.

Cross-cutting Commitments

We anchor our commitment in a global vision of Justice for the living*, integrating social and ecological dimensions.

  • Social Justice
  • Ecological Justice
  • Social Justice

We fight against all forms of inequality, whether they are systemic, economic, social, environmental, or related to oppression based on gender, race, class, culture, or any other dimension of identity. We actively support movements that strengthen the rights and dignity of all communities.

  • Ecological Justice

We recognize the central importance of ecological justice and we are committed to supporting projects that address environmental and ecological challenges. Our decisions take into account biodiversity, ecosystems, and the communities most affected by the climate crisis.

Five Mobilized Practices

Practical Guide

To fully embody our values and ethical principles, we have adopted five essential practices that structure our philanthropic approach and reinforce our commitment.
  • JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Learning Organization
  • Trust-Based Philanthropy
  • Responsible Finance
  • Care-Based Relationships
  • JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

We recognize systemic inequalities and seek to proactively address them in all aspects of philanthropy, including governance, decision-making, funding, partnerships, and programs.

  • Learning Organization

We adopt a continuous improvement approach, based on research, knowledge sharing, and feedback, to adapt and refine our actions.

  • Trust-Based Philanthropy

We embrace trust-based philanthropy, emphasizing the building of strong and lasting relationships between the Foundation and the groups we support. This approach results in less administrative work and more impact, flexibility, and adaptation to real needs, as well as a long-term commitment. We also value listening, co-creation, transparency, reciprocity, and fully recognize the systemic inequalities that shape our work.

  • Responsible Finance

We invest ethically by integrating social finance, impact finance, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. We take care to avoid any exploitation of environmental and social issues for image purposes.

  • Care-Based Relationships

We place care and concern at the heart of our relationships, creating supportive, respectful, and attentive environments. We are committed to encouraging the well-being of our team, our partners, and the communities we support by fostering inclusive and solidarity-based relationships. By integrating these principles into our daily actions, we help to break down traditional hierarchies and promote an organizational culture rooted in mutual respect and support.

Three Strategic Levers

Strategic Guide

To maximize our impact while remaining true to our values and mission, we have identified three key levers:
  • Radical Collaboration
  • Continuous Experimentation
  • Activist Engagement
  • Radical Collaboration

We go beyond traditional partnerships to create deep and meaningful alliances between the community and philanthropic sector.

    • Being a unifying bridge: facilitating cooperation, innovation, and resource sharing.
    • Co-creating with communities: valuing their expertise and responding to their realities.
    • Ensuring an active and attentive presence: supporting initiatives without imposing our vision.

By adopting this approach, we strengthen solidarity and promote lasting collective transformations.

  • Continuous Experimentation

We practice bold and open philanthropy, where testing new approaches is essential to better respond to social and environmental challenges.

    • Encouraging innovation without putting communities at risk.
    • Avoiding extractive practices: recognizing and respecting local knowledge.
    • Learning in real time: adapting our strategies based on concrete feedback from the frontlines.

When conducted ethically and respectfully, experimentation allows us to strengthen our effectiveness and increase our social impact.

  • Activist Engagement

Our philanthropy is not limited to financial support: we integrate activism and advocacy to amplify the voices of communities and advance social and ecological justice.

    • Actively defending the rights and interests of marginalized groups.
    • Influencing philanthropic policies and practices toward systemic change.
    • Being humble and supportive partners, respecting the autonomy of communities.

We speak out where our voice is wanted, staying aligned with the needs and aspirations of concerned communities.
