Resources & Collaborations Our Philanthropic Ecosystem / Philanthropic Alliance / Our Philanthropic Ecosystem We believe that social and environmental transformation requires collaboration and mutual learning. Rather than acting in isolation, we actively engage in networks of exchange, reflection, and action that allow philanthropic practices to evolve, resources to be shared, and the reach of supported initiatives to be strengthened. This commitment aims to be rooted in a philanthropy that is more just, inclusive, and in tune with the realities of groups and communities striving for equity and solidarity. Our commitments within the philanthropic ecosystem include: Key Philanthropic Networks The foundation is a member of Philanthropic Foundations Canada (PFC) and Environment Funders Canada (EFC), where we collaborate with other foundations to share best practices in funding, governance, and environmental justice. Spaces for Innovation and Transformation In partnership with Future Good, we contribute to reflections on the future of philanthropy and explore bolder and more relevant philanthropic models. Equitable Redistribution Initiatives Participation in the work of New Power Labs, a pan-Canadian network that develops equitable approaches to capital redistribution in order to better support underfunded communities. Reflections on Philanthropy and Reconciliation Involvement in spaces that examine the relationships between foundations and Indigenous Peoples, and that work to build practices more respectful of self-determination. Increased Support for LGBTQIA2S+ Communities Engagement with the pan-Canadian SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) network, which brings together governmental and philanthropic funders committed to improving practices for supporting initiatives related to sexual and gender diversity. Rooted in the Struggles for Social and Economic Equity Since its inception, the Béati Foundation has been involved in coalitions and collectives, including the Collectif des fondations québécoises contre les inégalités sociales (tr: Quebec Foundations Collective Against Social Inequality) and the Regroupement pour la responsabilité sociale des enterprises (tr: Coalition for Corporate Social Responsibility) which works to promote philanthropy and investments that are more aligned with social justice, thereby contributing to structural change in Quebec and beyond. Beyond these commitments, we firmly believe that philanthropy must constantly evolve. Participating in these networks allows us not only to challenge our own practices, but also to draw inspiration from those of other committed organizations. We learn, adapt, and experiment with approaches that we hope will contribute to lasting change and more relevant support for the groups we work with.
