A Partnership Between the Inspirit Foundation and the Béati Foundation Mobilizing Philanthropy Against Islamophobia / Philanthropic Alliance / Our Partnerships / Inspirit Foundation Islamophobia is a global reality that manifests differently depending on the social, political, and historical context. Throughout the West, we are seeing a normalization of discriminatory discourse, a rise in hateful acts, and policies that undermine the rights of Muslim communities. How can the philanthropic sector contribute to reversing this trend? And how does this Islamophobia manifest itself more specifically in Quebec? It is based on these questions that the Inspirit Foundation and the Béati Foundation chose to join forces. Convinced that philanthropy has a key role to play in the fight against Islamophobia, we launched a project aimed at mobilizing Quebec foundations and philanthropic actors on this issue. An Alliance for Structural Commitment The Inspirit Foundation works across Canada to transform discriminatory narratives and has chosen to collaborate with the Béati Foundation to better understand the specific dynamics of Islamophobia in Quebec. Béati, long committed to social justice, is the only Quebec foundation to have publicly opposed Bill 21 and its discriminatory impacts. This partnership is based on an approach rooted in local realities and aims to develop tailored philanthropic strategies. The objective is to better equip foundations and stakeholders in the sector so that they can play an active role in the fight against Islamophobia.
